Roof repair and replacement
Leaks, missing shingles, slate, copper, cedar shake and metal. Most roofs need a repair, not a new roof. When a roof is worn out end to end, we replace it, and I show you the pictures of why.
Everything on the outside of your house.
Roof repair and replacement, gutters, chimney and brick masonry, siding, porches and steps across Baltimore City and County. Text me a photo and I'll tell you what I see.
I'm often up on a roof, so a text usually reaches me fastest, but call anytime.
Tap a number on the house, or pick from the list, to see what we do there.

Roofs first, and everything else that keeps water out of the house. The numbers match the drawing above.

Leaks, missing shingles, slate, copper, cedar shake and metal. Most roofs need a repair, not a new roof. When a roof is worn out end to end, we replace it, and I show you the pictures of why.
Most skylight leaks are the flashing around it, not the glass. We reflash it so the water goes around the skylight instead of under it.

Flashing at walls, valleys and vents is the leak I find most. A cracked rubber boot around a vent pipe gets replaced, and a new boot lasts with maintenance.
A new copper vent pipe collar we installed on a slate roof, and new copper transition metal where we reinstalled another installer's synthetic slates.

Crowns, caps, flashing, repointing and rebuilds above the roofline. We work on the outside of the chimney. For liners and cleaning inside it, call a chimney sweep.
Chimney crowns Chimney caps Chimney flashing Chimney leaks in rain

We clean, repair and install gutters, fix leaking joints and loose hangers, and add or extend drip edge so water drops into the gutter, not behind it. Most homes don't need gutter guards. We install them if you want them, or where trees drop large fruit or flowers that can clog a downspout. We also clean or remove guards you already have.
Drip edge face-nailed by another installer. That's not how it should be done, and we fix it when we see it.
Gutter services Overflowing gutters Gutter pulling away Water behind gutters

When a gutter overflows for a while, the wood behind it rots. We replace the rotted fascia and soffit and fix what made it rot.

We fix loose downspouts and tie them into underground drains. We flush downspouts when you ask or when we suspect a clog, and we clear window wells so water stays out of the basement.

Modified bitumen and rubber flat roofs on rowhouses and porches. We repair seams and edges, and a fresh silver coat about every 5 years keeps a flat roof going.

We repair and replace siding and trim so the weather stays out and the outside of the house looks taken care of again.
Siding boards we replaced, primed and ready for paint.
Open joints around windows, doors and trim let water into the wall. We clean out the old caulk and seal them again.

Worn porch floors, soft boards and deck stairs. We replace what's rotted and match the rest as closely as we can.

Brick steps need a footer under them to stay put, so that's where we start. If you'd rather have concrete and your neighborhood allows it, we can replace brick steps with concrete. We also replace sunken sidewalk slabs.

Repointing brick and stone walls, and rebuilding brick pillars and mailboxes. We match the brick and mortar to the house as closely as we can.

We get up on the roof whenever it's safe. If a roof is too steep, too high or too fragile to walk, I fly the drone so we can still see it up close. I'm an FAA-licensed drone pilot.
A steep slate roof seen from the drone. We fly it only when a roof can't be walked safely.
Exterior work only. We don't do interior work. If water got inside, we fix where it's getting in. Leaking right now? Here's what to do first, and when it's safe to get up there, we can sometimes put a temporary cover on until the roof is dry enough to repair.
Built for Baltimore houses
Omni-Roof fixes the things that keep a Baltimore house dry: roofs, gutters, chimneys and brick, and porches and steps.
I'm James Preston, the owner. I've worked on city rowhouses and county homes for 24+ years, thousands of them, and we still work the same way. We find the leak, I give you a written price before we start, and we fix it if a repair will hold.
A lot of “roof leaks” in Baltimore turn out to be a downspout, a chimney crown, or one bad flashing joint. So on site we check the roof, flashing, gutters and chimney together. Licensed and insured, MHIC #154344, and BBB accredited, A+.
A lot of our work is on rowhouses in places like Canton and Fells Point. The flashing and chimneys on shared walls take a beating, and flat roof seams start leaking after a wet week.
Out in the county, we fix shingle and slate roofs in Towson, Perry Hall and White Marsh after high wind, plus the gutters and fascia that go with them.
Flat porch roofs that start leaking where they meet the gutter. That's most of what we do, in the city and the county.
How a job runs
You talk to me, not a call center.
Send your address and a photo or two to (443) 900-4815. A photo from the ground is fine.
I tell you what I see in your photos, then we come out and look in person. We get up on the roof whenever it's safe. If it's too steep, too high or too fragile to walk, I use the drone.
You get it in writing before any work starts, with no add-ons mid-job for things we already saw. If it's something small and you OK it on the spot, we can take care of it while we're there.
Repairs done right the first time
Every job starts with us coming out and looking at it. You get a straight answer about your house, and no pressure.
I would like to thank James Preston of Omni Roof for the work he performed fixing the soffit on my roof. The fast response to my request and the speed to complete the fix was outstanding. Omni Roof will definitely be my go-to choice for future work needed.
Great work. Always on time and very professional. I recommend this business to everyone! 2 thumbs up.
After the job. If something isn't right after we finish, call or text me and we'll come back and look at it. You can also reach me through the contact page.
Mostly roof repairs, including flat roofs, and roof replacement when a roof is worn out. We also do chimney and brick masonry, gutter cleaning, repair and installation, siding, porch and deck repairs, and small concrete jobs like porch steps. It's all on the outside of the house. We don't do interior work.
We find the real source of the problem before we fix anything, we take pictures before and after, and every job gets done the way I'd want it done on my own house. I have 24+ years on thousands of Baltimore-area homes.
It starts with a text or a call and a look at the problem. We get up on the roof whenever it's safe. Then I give you a written price and a rough idea of timing. While we're working, we keep you in the loop until the job is finished.
Text your address and a few pictures to 443-900-4815, call, or use the form on the website. We'll set up a time to come look. You get a written price before work starts, except small fixes you OK on the spot, which we can do while we're there.

No. We work on the outside of the chimney: the crown, cap, flashing, brick and mortar, and rebuilds above the roofline. For liners and cleaning inside the chimney, call a chimney sweep.
Yes, if you want concrete and your neighborhood has no restrictions on it. If you're keeping brick, brick steps need a solid footer under them, so we check that first.
